What is “Site Visitor Match”?

Site Visitor Match is a method of resolving the identity of your website visitors to put you in permanent control of your “first-party data.” It sounds simple, but the process is incredibly complex. Think of it this way…

Every website you interact with, for example Facebook, Google, Amazon, etc. assigns an identifier to you. A “code” so they know who you are when you come back.

Site Visitor Match creates a list of your website visitors that you own and control forever within your own private data-management platform. These are not cookies and therefore are not subject to expiration or the whims of targeting/ad platforms.

They are portable, meaning that you can use these lists to build marketing campaigns on all major online ad platforms, no matter where the visitor came from, including visitors from organic traffic, SEO, content marketing, online ad buys, affiliate traffic, cross-marketing, email campaigns or offline promotions. These lists can also be used in offline campaigns as well.

When a visitor lands on your website, our technology is able to match that visitor with information we have in our consumer database. This allows us to resolve the identity of that visitor and place them on a list that is unique to you. This list is permanent, portable and owned and controlled by you.


How do you deliver a list of my site visitors to me?

While you are a paid subscriber, our SMART pixel is busy 24/7/365 resolving the identities of your site visitors. This information is then added to your very own file that is continually being updated. This file is delivered to you at least once a week. You receive your list in the form of a SHA256 Cryptographic HASH file to preserve people’s identities and comply with security and privacy requirements.


What information is resolved about my site visitors?

Your list contains names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, device type and device id information. All the information you need to market to your visitors on all major marketing mediums and platforms. You receive your list in the form of a SHA256 Cryptographic HASH file to preserve people’s identities and comply with security and privacy requirements.


Does Site Visitor Match comply with PRIVACY regulations?


As you can imagine, 100% compliance with privacy policies and regulations is an absolute must when it comes to dealing with people’s personal information. While it is true that you maintain complete control of your Site Visitor Match list, rules are in place that limit the ability to view and manipulate the underlying data on your list. Therefore, your data resides in a SHA256 cryptographic hash to protect the identities of individuals. You maintain ownership and control of the HASH without owning the ability to personally view names, addresses, phone numbers, emails etc. This is for the protection of the public, and not least of all it protects you and your company.

You may be thinking, then what’s the benefit of owning and controlling these SHA 256 HASH files? The answer is your data contains incredibly valuable marketing power. You still have the power to use all the information on your Site Visitor Match list to market to your visitors any way you wish. You CAN take full advantage of the information on your list to market to all your site visitors. You can market to them via their email address, phone number, physical mail address, IP address and much more.  You can still market to ANY of the people on your list through, retarteting, direct mail, phone, email, display advertising, look-alike audiences, on hundreds of platforms, mobile retargeting and much more.


How is this different from Site Visitor information service available from other platforms?

This data is completely “platform independent”. This means you are never obligated to use it on any one platform.

Most platforms such as Google and many others offer some form of identity resolution to their clients. However they do NOT allow you to take this information outside their platform. The data must be used on only that platform. Tagpoint offers a Site Visitor Match service that is 100% portable to any platform, your choice and you only pay us once for the use of this information.

With other platforms’ services, if you want access their Site Visitor data collected from your first party data, you need to pay them, and then use it only on their platform. To use Site Visitors collected by other platforms, you would need a separate agreement with each of the other platforms you want to do business with.

Also, with us, you own this data permanently and you are never required to use any platform except for the ones you choose.


What does “portable” mean?

Site Visitor Match data is delivered to you in the form of a SHA256 Cryptographic Hash file. This file is in a format commonly used by the largest marketing and data management platforms to securely and privately share information amongst parties.

The data is “portable” in that it can be shared with any marketing platform capable of using SHA256 Cryptographic Hashes (all of the major ones do this). So, for example, your Site Visitor Match data could be shared with any of these platforms (and others) to customize your own multi-channel marketing campaign targeted directly to your own site visitors:

Google AdWords-Search, YouTube, Gmail, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Amazon, Twitter, Pinterest
Display – banner ads and re-targeting ads via. AdRoll, Perfect Audience, and more
Mobile - via Pocket Math, AdMobi, and others
and multiple platforms are available to reach out to your Site Visitor Match list via Email, Direct Mail, Outbound voice calls, SMS Text, VoiceMail Drop…


What is “First Party Data”

“First Party Data” is the information you collect about your audience.


How long can I use the data gathered on my visitors?

Your data is your data and it does not expire.  We may argue over how valuable the list is if it has visitors from 3 years ago, but it’s still your data.


Am I required to use a particular marketing platform to take advantage of Site Visitor Match?

No. You are free to use any platform that can read and deliver their advertising medium by delivering your marketing message to people from a SHA256 Encrypted HASH.


Do you guarantee results?

We guarantee to deliver your Site Visitor Match list as promised. How you use that data, and the results you accomplish are completely within your own power. We do not guarantee results from the use of Site Visitor Match data.


How much does this cost/do you have a price schedule?

Our fees are based on either a flat monthly fee or usage depending on your website. We will determine the best value for your money during our strategy session.


How do I get started?

Click the button on our home page to schedule a 10-minute discovery call with our team. We will ask you questions to determine if this is a good fit for your company. If it is, we will develop a custom proposal. Once you agree to our terms, we will work with your team to implement our SMART pixel on your website and begin delivering your first Site Visitor Match list to you within 7 days of implementation.


How long does it take to get my first list?

Once our SMART pixel is properly installed on your site the pixel will begin “firing” after 25 visits. Your first list of visitors will be delivered to you within 7 days. You will then receive a new list a minimum of once a week.


Can I segment to track visitors to individual pages?

Yes, you can segment the pixel to target pages as needed to fulfill your marketing needs.


Does this technology work worldwide?

Not currently. Site Visitor Match operates in the United States market only.


Can you resolve 100% of my site visitors’ identities

If you’ve ever given a list of email addresses to Facebook, for example, and asked them to create a look alike, you will find they may be able to match back 50% to 60% of your list to the data they own on their list.  This number is never 100% because no data platform owns ALL information on EVERY person associated with an email or IP address. Our technology typically resolves a comparable number of site visitors- 50% to 60% is not uncommon.

We have seen results as high as 90+% and as low as 20%, depending on the type of site visitor. B2B visitors tend to resolve at a lower rate than B2C visitors. But 50% to 60% is a typical result.
